Company Director and Landscape Architect, Ben Henare started Onestone Landscapes ten years ago, having previously worked in large scale Auckland firms. He saw that clients wanted to have a more continuous relationship with their contractors: someone who had a handle on their project from concept right through to the on-going maintenance of their garden, alas Onestone Landscapes was born. essentially taking care of two birds with Onestone.
Our tight-knit and experienced team can advise on all aspects of outdoor enhancement including ground-work, retaining, pool installation, decking and fencing, lawn establishment and planting. If it’s outside, the crew can do it!

Ben is the founder of Onestone Landscapes and has been building the brand for ten years now. Not only is he the creative and front of house, but you'll also find him onsite most days helping get the mahi done. As a qualified Landscape Architect, Ben has been designing landscapes for coming up 15 years and has an in-depth understanding of council regulations, sign offs and large scale projects. Ben’s main passion is being onsite, whether that’s driving the digger or pushing barrows, he’s happy to get stuck in for his clients to help their dreams become reality.

Sophie is our Office Manager and qualified Garden Designer. Her background is in Real Estate Sales and Human Resources so she takes care of everything from recruitment and marketing, to scheduling the crew and ensuring our clients are happy. Sophie also assists Ben, our Landscape Architect with design projects, so if the team is working on a landscaping plan or planting schedule for you, then Sophie is likely busy working away on this in the background too.

Zac has been with the crew for coming up one year but has worked on and off for Onestone on a contracting basis over the last few years. He is a licensed builder and has been in the industry for 18 years across commercial and residential sites. Zac is known for his problem solving, hardscaping skill set and his get it done attitude. His commitment to his projects and the ensuing results speak for itself.

Mike Henare
Mike has been with Onestone for four years now and heads up our Maintenance Division, managing our commercial and residential contracts. His background has been in international project and civil engineering as well as business ownership, so he has a wealth of commercial knowledge and is a great asset to the team. While a lot of his time is spent liaising with clients and suppliers, he is always happy to get stuck in and get his hands dirty onsite or in the plant nursery.

Jordan has been with the crew for almost four years and is a key member of the team, spending most of his time across the project sites as a landscaping labourer as well as occasionally on our maintenance sites. He’s been in the industry for eight years now so is well versed with both hard and softscaping. He’s a young buck with a can-do attitude and is always ready to get stuck in, rain or shine.

Matt has been an integral part of Onestone Landscapes since he started working with the crew in 2020. He has been in the landscaping industry for just on 15 years now and has the skills and knowledge to back it up. While he has spent most of his time with the crew on the landscaping side, he's more recently been working in our maintenance division. His plant knowledge and commitment to the job has our ongoing maintenance clients wrapped to have him on their sites.
